La Manga Club has a rich sporting history that stretches back to the 1960s when the two original golf courses were designed and developed. Having established itself as a centre of excellence for golf, the resort saw the creation of an international standard, 15-court Tennis Centre in the 70s (since upgraded to 28 courts). In later years this was followed by first-class facilities for football, cricket, bowls, rugby, hockey and several water-based activities.

Three of the most popular sports at La Manga Club – football, tennis and golf – attract both keen amateurs and leading professionals. Many sports teams and championship athletes have enjoyed the facilities over the years, including grand-slam tennis champions, major winning golfers and football teams including AC Milan and Real Madrid. Golf
